Lumières du Silence” exhibition by Christine Morin and François Chauvin

Christine Morin explains, “Painting is a simple, direct and revealing tool, but also a kind of hollow, silence and penumbra. Looking at the surface, following ideas, waiting, hearing, listening. Trying to find that intimate point of balance and accuracy… The research I pursue in painting and installations can be likened to contemplation. Contemplation, respect and curiosity, that’s what I try to share.
François Chauvin introduces himself as follows: “I follow my own current, curious about the life impulse and the way in which it pushes us to rise above ourselves. A radical rebel in pursuit of beauty and the sacred, I like to offer an offbeat point of view through techniques that I reinvent.
I use three media to reveal the path of this life drive: tufa and slate, wicker and image.
