Prosper Legault’s practice straddles the border between sculpture and poetry. Using remnants of signs and street furniture gleaned from his wanderings through towns and suburbs, he produces three-dimensional collages. Prosper’s art reflects globalisation and its excesses, and the way in which capital cities digest and mix the objects and cultures from which they originate. He brings everyday life into the exhibition space in a way that is not usually visible.
