At this conference, Mattieu Manceau, Vice-Chairman of the Friends of the Historial, will share the results of five years of research and exploration of archives and unpublished testimonies for his dissertation in political history.
Born in Loudun in 1923, René Monory became a major political figure in the Vienne department and then at national level. He is a household name in a region that he served and carried into the 21st century.
“From the garage in Loudun to the Petit Luxembourg, René Monory’s unique life as a self-taught entrepreneur and politician spans the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. Exploring his life means discovering, even today, some surprising surprises, sharing anecdotes, but above all witnessing the great projects that the Vienne”.
