The famous fairy tale, featuring the original text but in a funny and completely offbeat version, performed by three actresses.
A young princess, dearly loved by her parents, finds herself, from the moment of her birth, caught up in a conflict between fairies and magical powers. A curse dooms her, on the cusp of adolescence, to prick her hand on a spindle and fall into a hundred-year slumber. What follows features a host of fairy-tale characters: a prince, servants, an ogress, a butler, young children… and with them, the twists and turns of a heroic quest… or perhaps an anti-heroic one?
Sleeping Beauty speaks to us of empowerment, freedom and life choices. So, with the body as their sole setting, a trio of actresses breathes new life into this classic, whilst preserving the original language of the text.
