Visit to the Donjon of Moncontour

Famous site of the battle pitting Protestants against Catholics in the royal army in 1569. This 11th-century keep, built by Foulques Nerra, was used as an outpost at Mirebeau and to protect the citadel at Loudun.
The view from 25 metres up is breathtaking!
