Today, it is the only remaining part of the fortress that was dismantled under Louis XIII in an attempt to suppress a Protestant stronghold. Its medieval-inspired garden features medicinal plants as well as other plants, with its wooden arches serving as a backdrop to the walled garden (open all year round).
The last entrance to the Tour Carrée is 30 minutes before closing time. Visitors are invited to approach the monument exit 10 minutes before closing time.
