A family visit to Monts sur Guesnes castle

Medieval life,
as if you were there!

After the immersive tour, we continued our journey back to the Middle Ages outside the castle. Here, the children had the time of their lives in the camp, with its wooden games. Accessible at any time of year, they even appeal to parents. The whole family enjoyed themselves. The hardest part was stopping. It was a question of revenge. Fortunately, the great trebuchet calmed everyone down. When the castle’s knights activated it for a life-size demonstration, we only had eyes for it!

summer events!

Luckily for us, we’d chosen to come in the summer. It’s the perfect season to fully experience the magic of Monts sur Guesnes castle! We discovered summer shows that give the site a whole new atmosphere. In the middle of August, it’s the Artésiennes who take over the site and the surrounding area for a dozen or so theatrical performances made in PL’S. Romy was fascinated by the costumes and the performance of the artists, observing every detail as if she were witnessing an authentic scene from a fantastic manuscript.

A few days later, Lucien’s eyes shone with Les Chevaleresques, a giant escape game that transforms the castle into a human-sized game board. Between solvingriddles and deciphering parchments, he didn’t know where to turn.

These occasional moments turn the castle into a living stage set.
