We may be a family, but we know how to take a little time for ourselves. So, while Nora enjoyed a moment to herself at the Arborescence hairdressing salon, I took the children on a forty-minute easy stroll around the Domaine. From the first few metres, Malo spotted the little house where the Domaine de Roiffé chickens live. The children had fun watching them pecking, before noting the differences between each plumage like real little naturalists.
We then continued on our way to the Bicentenary Oak. Lila sat in its shade, fascinated by its size. Further on, we moved slowly so as not to scare the fallow deer. The way they stared at us, remaining motionless, captivated the children.
After leaving them, we went to meet the Solognot sheep, a local breed that the children found “all hairy and too cute”. We took our time looking at them before continuing on to thepond, where the calm water reflected the trees perfectly. The fisherman’s cottages on the shore inspired the children to imagine life “in a hut just above the water”, just like in their favourite stories.
This walk was a real concentrate of nature! The children observed their environment and enjoyed the estate at their own pace.
