s'amuser en famille en pays loudunais

A great family holiday experience in the Loudunais region

Camille and our two children, Léo and Anna, enjoyed a wonderful family holiday in the Pays Loudunais. It’s the perfect place to get together as a family, and we had plenty of laughs! Here, we call it PLS’mala: a whole family, a bit noisy, often enthusiastic, always ready to have fun. Between life-size sensations , medieval discoveries and downright relaxation, everything comes together for a simple, happy family holiday, far from the crowds and close to what’s essential.

100% adventure days with the tribe

As soon as we arrived, Léo brandished his phone: off to Terra Aventura. This online treasure hunt is one of the local delights. On the roads of Curçay-sur-Dive or in the narrow streets of Loudun, you follow the clues, solve the riddles and, above all, laugh a lot at the children’s unlikely finds. Anna found a Poï’z before anyone else: family pride assured.

In the afternoon, we moved on to the Boule d’Or go-karting track. With his helmet screwed on, Camille took great pleasure in overtaking me in the last bend (revenge!). During the race, the cry was “May the best man win! You might as well say that the children took great pleasure in taunting us as soon as they were in front of us. In this type of venue, accessible even to the youngest, you can enjoy the same shared sensations. And when the rain gets in the way, or when you feel like taking the excitement down a notch, you can take refuge in the Domaine de Roiffé relaxation area. There, you can enjoy a well-deserved break over a hot chocolate or an impromptu game of mini-golf.

Taking children to experience life in a castle

The next day, off to the Château de Monts-sur-Guesnes. Here, it’s not just a visit: it ‘s history! Thanks to an immersive tour, children can become equestrians, while their parents rediscover the great days of Poitou. Léo swore allegiance to Eleanor of Aquitaine (i.e. Anna), before becoming fascinated by the augmented reality battles. We left the castle still talking about knights and dragons. A great achievement without a screen (yes, it’s possible)!

Aquatic laughter

When the sun is shining, head to the Moncontour leisure centre. The water ski lift was a sensation: one cable, one board and lots of good humour. Anna set off, concentrated, while I pretended to be doing the photo report (in reality, I was enjoying the sun). All around, the beach, the pedalos and the impromptu picnics created an atmosphere of a simple holiday, one where time passed just as it should.

To extend the pleasure, we went to Center Parcs Le Bois aux Daims, just a few minutes away. A total immersion in nature: free-roaming fallow deer, wave pools and that rare feeling of slowing down without getting bored. The children loved feeding the animals and exploring the tree walkways. We enjoyed a coffee while watching the bikes go by.

The PL'S version of family holidays

At the end of our stay, we realised that the Pays Loudunais lives up to its slogan: Si bien en PL’S. In fact, this region has everything to appeal to families: a wide range of activities, a real sense of welcome and a pace that leaves plenty of room for complicity.

What we also liked were the little touches from theTourist Office. The holiday advisors offer ideas for outings, suitable accommodation and good deals to share with friends or family. It s all designed to make life easier, so you can enjoy a stress-free holiday on a human scale.

On the way home, Léo asked when we’d be coming back. Camille smiled: “When we need another dose of PLS’mala! And it’s true. Here, laughter is contagious, the landscapes soothing, the encounters sincere. The Pays Loudunais doesn’t need to overdo it: it seduces with its authenticity, its simplicity and this unique way of bringing young and old together around real moments.
