For over 10 years, Alkabaya – fronted by Sébastien (on vocals), alongside Florian, Thibaut and Anthony – have been delivering French pop music firmly rooted in the spirit of the times, in the vein of MPL and Boulevard des Airs. Built on irresistible melodies, the lyrics—which are both intimate and socially conscious—speak to each and every one of us. There’s a touch of Gaël Faye in the writing, a hint of Ben Mazué in the flow, and a hint of Lavilliers in the tone… Sharply highlighting the absurdities of our world, Alkabaya doesn’t just stop at criticism: the four lads invite us to find a little poetry amidst the chaos, to hold our heads high and let go so that we can stick together, come what may, in the face of adversity.
